Nick Kyrgios stressed that a demanding 2022 schedule with little downtime has left him feeling “exhausted.” Over the past 12 months, the Wimbledon runner-up has experienced the best year of his career thus far, but that breakthrough success has come at a price.
Kyrgios finished competing in ATP events in Japan Open in early October, but he has since participated in a number of lucrative exhibition tournaments in countries like Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates.
During a recent interview with Eurosport, Kyrgios commented:
“I’m exhausted honestly. Just stressful. The more you win, the more success you have, the more demands you have off the court. People expect more from you. It’s been a stressful year that’s for sure. I probably handled things a lot better. A lot of stress, but it’s been fun as well.”
