AUSTRALIAN OPEN. Dominic Thiem to receive a wild-card with Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic the top favorites

Dominic Thiem will start his campaign at the Australian Open from the main draw thanks to a wild card granted by Tennis Australia.

Dominic Thiem

Dominic Thiem is still trying to get back to his best form after getting injured to his wrist one year and a half ago in Majorca. According to German Eurosport, the Austrian player will have direct access to the Australian Open main draw thanks to a wild card. As of now, Dominic is the alternate number 7, and he will get the wild card if he doesn’t enter directly in the main draw.

The favorites to win the Australian Open

Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic are considered the top favorites to win the first slam of the year. However, as stated by Toni Nadal recently, after so many years of the domination of the Big3 there will be at least 7 or 8 players who can win majors in 2023.
