Roger Federer has just retired from professional tennis. As of now, the Swiss legend has been enjoying his time with his family and also promoting some brands. Roger was at an event in Japan organized by UNIQLO. He was involved in all sorts of activities. As usual, he was asked to participate in various talks.
Federer about coaching
During one of these talks, Roger was asked if he was open to coaching. He said that he is enjoying spending time with his family and cannot see himself coaching full-time, especially with his 4 children still going to school. Nevertheless, Roger said that he might be open to coaching a junior and you never know if he will change the idea in the future.
“Coaching…I mean, never say never. Stefan Edberg said the same; he will never coach until he got the phone call from me and I invited him over for practice and he said ‘ok, let me try for a year.’
At the moment, with my four children going to school and everything going on, I don’t see myself coaching at the moment. If a junior comes around and he needs some support or advice I’m happy to do that.”
