Points to defend at the Australian Open

The situation will be interesting after the Australian Open. There is no way for Rafael Nadal to become number 1 after the Australian Open because he is the defending champion and he can only confirm the 2,000 points he gained after winning the title in Melbourne last year. Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, and Novak Djokovic can be number 1 after the Australian Open if they have a great run in Melbourne and at the current ATP Finals.

These are the points that the top players will have to defend at the Australian Open.

Nadal – 2000
Tsitsipas – 720
Alcaraz – 90
