Nick Kyrgios and Karen Khachanov are going to face off in a very interesting quarter-final on Wednesday at the US Open. When Kyrgios plays you can always anticipate something pyrotechnical coming from his match. We may expect some fireworks also after Kyrgios and Khachanov had a rather nasty altercation on social media a couple of years ago.
What happened between Nick Kyrgios and Karen Khachanov?
Karen didn’t like when Kyrgios insulted Mats Wilander for criticizing Murray and publicly asked Nick to respect the legends. Kyrgios didn’t back off saying that he probably couldn’t have an “intellectual conversation” with him because the Russian could just hit balls hard. Khachanov replied, saying Nick should read some books instead of just playing video games.
Probably their relationship is now much better given the fact that Nick has calmed down. We will see it on Wednesday.
