Roger Federer and Kei Nishikori will play for a place in the semifinal in Paris on Friday evening as a second match (est. 9.30 pm).
Federer
Roger is chasing his 100th title in Paris where he is having an extremely smooth ride. In fact, after the ritual 1st round bye, the Swiss sensation didn’t need to play also in the 2nd round since Milos Raonic had to withdraw because of an elbow injury. In the 3rd round, the Maestro dismissed Fabio Fognini 6-4 6-3 in just 73 minutes to arrive pretty fresh to this appointment against the Japanese.
Nishikori
Kei is having fantastic results since the US Open after he reached the semifinal at the Flushing Meadows and in Metz, the final in Tokyo and Vienna, and the quarters in Shanghai. In Paris, the Japanese defeated Adrian Mannarino (7-5 6-4) and Kevin Anderson (6-4 6-4). The Japanese may be a bit tired ahead of his match against Federer as he is coming from a rather long run after he reached the final in Vienna the week before.
