Carlos Alcaraz In Hamburg

Carlos Alcaraz was meant to have an easy ride in the first round in Hamburg against his fellow Spaniard and world no.259 Nicola Kuhn. Instead, the seed no.1 won after 2 hours and 26 minutes in 3 sets after losing the opener 3-6 6-1 7-63. He will face Filip Krajinovic for a place in the quarters.

After the match, Carlito commented:

“I came from the grass, and the difference was too much. I’m really happy to be in the second round. I’m sure that I will be better in the next round, but I’m really happy with the win.

“I knew that I wasn’t playing well, so I knew I was going to have my chances to get better in the second set. Try not to miss as much as I did in the first set. I’m really happy with the change that I put in in the second set.”
