The world no.4 crashes out from the WTA in Eastbourn for the 3rd consecutive time. The seed no.1 lost 6-4 3-6 7-6 (4) at the hands of world no. 26 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
This is the third consecutive match lost by Agnieszka in the opener since 2012. She has won the Eastbourne title in 2008, but that seems to be so much time ago.
In the other matches Caroline Wozniacki has defeated Sam Stosur 7-5 6-4 and Sloane Stephens has beaten Caroline Garcia 6-2 6-4.
