End of career for Tommy Haas? The German undergoes a shoulder operation

Bad news from Tommy Haas: the German will undergo an operation to his right shoulder.

The former no.2 was struggling for some time with his fitness to finally take the decision to try to fix his problem to the shoulder.

Haas: It is going to be a long process

The German commented “It’s been a struggle since the beginning of the year obviously and I’ve already had to retire in matches, which is never fun. Last week I had to take another MRI after Paris because it was a severe thing I felt again in the shoulder. Unfortunately it’s an injury I’ve already had before that was fixed, but my sub-scapular tendon is torn again.

It’s a big step backwards in a long process, but I want to hopefully come back again at some point and finish my career on my own terms when I’m ready for it. I’ll try everything I can.”

Game Over?

Former world no.2 and now ranked no.20, Tommy is 36 years and he has won 15 titles. This is Haas 4th injury and it might be one too many.

The real question is: Is he ever going to be back?
