How Simona Halep got injured
The world no.1 got injured to her back in Wuhan when she was practicing with Petra Kvitova. Eventually, Simona’s movements were seriously affected, and she crashed out in the opening matches in both Wuhan and Beijing to go back to Romania and check the extent of her injury.
When back, she announced that she has a herniated disk prompting speculations about a possible surgery.
Why Simona doesn’t need surgery
According to reports, Simona is still quite optimistic and she will definitely the finals in Singapore. The world no.1 commented
“I feel pretty OK.
Of course I was worried, but I did an MRI and now I know very well what I have. There have been problems in the past, but now it is a bit stronger, but I will recover with physiotherapy, nothing more, and I hope to be able to play tournaments.
I think I’ll make another break for another week without playing tennis and then I’ll take it lightly. I was also worried at first when I did not know what I had, but after I did the MRI and talked to the doctors I relaxed.
Any tennis player has this problem and somehow it’s normal. Of course, there is a risk, any injury is a risk, but it’s not such a big risk, there’s no danger of something very serious happening. I am confident and we will see what will be in the future, I’m sure to go to the Finals in Singapore, the most important is health, but there is no question of surgery.”
