Nick Kyrgios has always been contrary to have a proper full-time coach. He had some collaborations in the past like the one with Grosjean, but besides that, he always tried to stay solo.
The Australian is currently competing in Tokyo where he has announced a new coach: James Cerretani.
Who is Kyrgios new coach James Cerretani?
Cerretani (37) is from the US and he has a good career in doubles (4 titles). James is still active in the discipline and he has paired with Nick in Tokyo where they lost in the 2nd round.

The announcement
It was Nick to announce the partnership while talking to The Courier-Mail (article)to say
“James is my coach now, you can quote me on that one.
We have been working for a while now, especially the last couple of weeks.
We’ve been talking on the phone a lot, but starting in Tokyo it’s the first week we have been working together officially. It’s going well.’’
According to Kyrgios, The partnership will last for the Asian swing and then both will see if and how they will collaborate in the future.
Nick will face Richard Gasquet in the 2nd round in Tokyo. The head to head is 5-2 for the Frenchman.
Update … was it a prank?
Apparently, Kyrgios’s announcement was a prank as he later said on the social media. Another way to make new friends with the press.
