Aryna Sabalenka wins an impressing title in Beijing after demolishing Anett Kontaveit in the final.
The Belarussian displayed fantastic tennis for the entire week in Wuhan. The 20-year-old didn’t just play her trademark smashing tennis from the baseline, but she impresses also for not being shy to get to the net when required.
After winning a couple of tough 3 setters at the beginning of the tournament against Carla Suarez Navarro and Elina Svitolina, the Belarussian conceded no sets to Sofia Kenin, Dominika Cibulkova, Ashleigh Barty (in top form), and Anett Kontaveit.
The final
There was no match in the last act of the week in Wuhan since Aryna’s ball was too powerful to handle for Anett. The result was never in discussion in the first set after Sabalenka got a decisive 4-1 lead. In the second set, the Estonian opposed some resistance to get a 3-2 lead, but then Aryna went for it to clinch the following 4 games and win 6-3 6-3.
