Aryna is playing a fantastic tennis in China. Besides beating Svitolina in the 2nd round, Sabalenka impressed in the last 2 matches after she defeated in straight sets 2 players that were in excellent form: Dominika Cibulkova and Ashleigh Barty.
The semifinal against the Australian was particularly tricky especially in the 1st set when Barty failed to serve out the set when leading 5-4. Eventually, it was Sabalenka to find the solution and win the match 7-6 (2) 6-4.

Ranked no.27, Anett impressed in the first round after she defeated Sloane Stephens in 3 sets. Later, the Estonian had a rather approachable draw and she won the final after Qiang Wang retired while Kontaveit was leading 6-2 2-1.
