Emma Raducanu explains why she decided to part ways with her coach Torben Bells

Emma Raducanu is really struggling to find some stability with her coaching team. The British sensation made her fans quite perplexed when she split with Nigel Sears soon after having a fantastic run in Wimbledon, where she reached the 2nd week. Things got even more unusual after Emma parted ways with her new coach Andrew Richardson just 2 weeks after winning the US Open. Later, Emma decided to partner with Torben Beltz, a great coach with a huge experience, to announce their divorce after just 5 months.

Raducanu released the following statement:

“I want to thank Torben for his coaching, professionalism and dedication over the last half a year. He has a huge heart and I have enjoyed our strong chemistry during the time together.

I feel the best direction for my development is to transition to a new training model with the LTA supporting in the interim.”

Emma ended training on clay a few weeks ago with renowned coach Riccardo Piatti. However, Emma Raducanu said that she was training without Torben because he decided to take some time off to stay with his family. Nevertheless, Torben was with her in Stuttgart where she reached the quarterfinals.

Definitely, her grim 5-7 win-loss record in 2022 didn’t help.
