Nadal: Rome is my main target for now. Not the Roland Garros

Rafael Nadal takes 1 step at a time.

The Kind of Clay is just focused at winning his 8th title in Rome and he doesn’t want to think about anything else.

During a recent interview he said “I don’t think about being ready for Paris, I want to be ready for Rome! The Roland Garros is a very important event, but it is not the only tournament in the tour, and right now I don’t want to think about it.

I am here to play a tournament that has meant a lot throughout my career. When you manage to win a tournament, you know that you can do it again”

And about the conditions in Rome

Rafa shares the same opinion of the other players that the conditions in Rome are very different from Madrid he conditions are very different here that what they were in Madrid. Today it’s raining, so I am not sure how much time I will have to practice, but I am very happy to be here. Obviously if you manage to play well and win the tournament, you tend to forget about the changes in conditions or the different bounce of the ball”

Rafa will start his campaign in Rome against a struggling Gilles Simon. Head to head is 5-1 for the Spaniard that he is widely expected to win in straight sets.
