Naomi Osaka is one of the strongest tennis players competing on the WTA tour and one of the most emotional. The Japanese sensation has rarely managed to hold her emotions during her career. Unfortunately, Naomi had a harsh meltdown in March when she competed in Indian Wells. Osaka was hugely upset for being insulted by a spectator when playing against Veronika Kudermetova. She couldn’t hold tears for the entire match.
Things when much better for Naomi in Miami, where she reached the final before losing to an inspired Iga Swiatek. After the match, Naomi revealed that she doesn’t want to cry anymore in public.
“I would say like I’m like really grateful for it. It kind of almost made me cry, but I don’t want to cry in public anymore. So I was holding it in.
It meant a lot to me. I feel like aside from like winning and losing, I appreciated the fact that people were happy to see me like playing again or happy to see me happy. So I appreciated it like on a human-being basis.”
