On Sunday, and at 18 years of age, Carlos Alcaraz wins his first Master ATP1000. The new Spanish sensation has a huge leap in the live rankings. Carlito is now no.2 in the Race soon after his childhood hero Rafael Nadal. On Monday, Alcaraz will also be 1 step from breaking into the top10 (he will be ranked no.11). Carlito’s goal was to break into the top15 this year. He may need to revise that.

Now the world no.16 (career-high), Alcaraz played his last match on the 3rd of April when he beat world no.8 Casper Ruud 7-5 6-4 in the final in Miami to win his 3rd career title.
This year Carlos has achieved a 18-2 win-loss record. Alcaraz conquered 2 titles in 2022 in Rio de Janeiro and in Miami.
Rafael Nadal in 2022
Currently the world no.3, Nadal played his last match on the 20th of March when he capitulated to world no.13 Taylor Fritz 6-3 7-6(5) in the final in Indian Wells (draw).
During this season Nadal achieved a composed 20-1 match record. The Spaniard has won 3 titles in 2022 in Melbourne, at the Australian Open and in Acapulco. The Spaniard reached the final in Indian Wells.
