Stefanos Tsitsipas will face Jack Sock in his opening match in Indian Wells, where he will try to have a deep run. Last November, the Greek sensation had to undergo an elbow surgery to fix an injury that apparently was bothering him for long.
During the pre-tournament press conference, Stefanos revealed that he was quite surprised not only to play the Australian Open but also to go deep in the tournament (he reached the semifinal).
Stefanos commented:
“That was not normal, not normal at all. My doctor had planned for me to start playing the first week of the clay season. It threw him off, he did not expect it.
It was kind of a miracle in a way. The fact I was able to go deep at the Australian Open was the best thing that has happened in my career so far a comeback, after such a difficult injury which I suffered with for many years.”
