Denis Shapovalov wins another inspiring match.
This time in the 2nd round of the US Open, the upcoming Canadian was opposed to the world no. 51 Andreas Seppi that is always an extremely dangerous customer.
The match
Denis didn’t start in the best possible way to drop his serve in the very first game. However, after being 1-3 down, the Canadian found his way to conquer 5 of the following 6 games and win the first set 6-4.
The second set was decided by 1 break that Seppi clinched in the 4th game (4-3) before winning 6-4.
The third set was particularly ugly for Denis that couldn’t capitalize on a break in the 6th game (4-2) to immediately drop his own serve (4-3) before losing 7-5.
However, the Canadian is well known for his die-hard attitude, and he battled all the way through the 4th set before winning the breaker and bring the affair to the decider.
In the 5th set, Shapovalov broke Seppi in the 4th game, but once again the Italian made it even (3-3). Finally, Denis won the decisive break in the 7th game before conquering the contest 6-4 4-6 5-7 7-6 (2) 6-4. The match ended after 3 hours and 47 minutes.
