The Canadian beauty demolished her 4th consecutive opponent after winning the qualifications and the 1st round without conceding more than 4 games in each encounter.

The last victim of Genie was the wildcard Harmony Tan that managed to score just 4 games (6-3 6-1).

Genie was elated with her last performance to comment

“It’s been great to get a lot of matches, that’s what I feel like I’ve needed recently. It was a little trickier than my matches in qualies, but that’s to be expected, we’re in the main draw now. Every girl’s going to be tough, and I’m just thrilled to be able to be in New York for a few more days.”
