She played better than me. I will move on fast. HALEP

Simona Halep wasn’t happy with crashing out at the 1st round of the US Open, but she knows how to handle disappointment.

Simona Halep was stunned in the US Open 1st round after been brushed away by a fantastic Kaia Kanepi that played one of the best tennis of her career.

The Romanian lost 6-2 6-4, and she almost recovered after she was 6-2 3-0, but eventually that was not her day.

Soon after the match, Simona was gracious in defeat to comment

“It’s tough to lose. Sometimes I have tears. It’s normal. But now I feel better. I feel that it just was a bad day, and I will move on fast.

Today was not my day; the balance was not there. I couldn’t feel myself strong on the court to win this match. I was actually practicing okay yesterday and two days ago, but that’s it. It’s just a day, and it’s a bad day for me. She deserved to win because she was playing better than me today.”

The good news for Simona is that she will stay at the top of the rankings anyway.

Simona will play next in Wuhan (24th of September). She has plenty of time to recover and to get ready.
