One of the most intriguing 1st rounds of this US Open was definitely the clash against Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime that are widely considered the future of Tennis Canada.
After the 2 best friends shared the first 2 sets the crowd got shocked as Felix was struggling with his health. Felix had a prolonged medical time-out at the beginning of the 3rd set as he was feeling faint. Unfortunately, he had to retire (and for good) when he was 7-5 5-7 4-1 down.
Eventually, Felix ended up in tear with Dennis giving him a big friendly hug.  Felix apologized to the crowd saying, “I am sorry.”
What’s the problem of Felix Auger-Aliassime?
Unfortunately, this is not a new condition for Felix as he had to withdraw from the Challenger in Guadeloupe last year when he was diagnosed with tachycardia.
This kind of conditions could be very harmful in tennis and players such as Mardy Fish had to retire. Let’s hope this is not the case.

After looking into it, it appears Felix Auger-Aliassime suffers from a heart condition known as Tachycardia — makes your heart beat more than 100 times per minute.
It’s been a concern in some of his past matches.
