Stefanos Tsitsipas has often been criticized for being coached by his father during his matches. Even if that is against the rules, coaching during matches is something that happens regularly.
Coaching in tennis
Many tennis personalities things that coaching should be allowed. This is also the opinion of tennis legend Billie Jean King. During a recent podcast with Patrick McEnroe, she said
“Let people coach. Like Tsitsipas’s dad’s coaching. They have signals like the third base coach does in baseball. Just get rid of it. That way the poor umpire doesn’t have to pay attention to that at all.
First of all, the player has to be able to hit. You have been Davis cup coach. You know you can tell whatever you want, but it doesn’t mean he’s gonna do it.”

Ranked world no.4, the Greek played his last match on the 13th of February when he was overcome by world no.9 Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4 6-2 in the final in Rotterdam (draw).
This year Stefanos has achieved an overall 10-3 record. Stefanos Tsitsipas’s latest run in Rotterdam was the best achievement of his season.
