After struggling for a couple of years, Amanda Anisimova is having a fantastic start of her new season in 2022. The American sensation went through a heartbreaking loss right before turning 18 when her father at longtime coach suddenly died. Amanda clearly struggled to find her way after that horrible loss. However, she seems to be in the right direction in Melbourne after she reached the final at the local WTA250 event.
Coached by Darren Cahill
Amanda revealed that she had started a partnership with Darren Cahill, who used to be the longtime coach of Simona Halep. During a press conference in Melbourne, Anisimova commented:
“We’re just starting out and getting to know each other. We’ll see how it goes and hopefully, it could become a long-term thing. I’m hoping that will be the case.”
