MELBOURNE ENTRY LIST. With Pavlyuchenkova positive, Osaka, Pegula, Raducanu probably top seeds

Naomi Osaka, Jessica Pegula and Emma Raducanu set to lead the draw in Melbourne with the plausible exit of Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova

Entry List Melbourne

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Naomi Osaka, Jessica Pegula and Emma Raducanu were originally the top 4 seeds of the upcoming WTA 250 event that will be staged in Melbourne the first week of January.

Unfortunately, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has just announced that she was found positive for Coronavirus as soon as she landed in Australia. The Russian player is now isolating and it is quite plausible that she will not play next week. In that case, Naomi Osaka, Jessica Pegula, and Emma Raducanu will lead the pack in Melbourne.

This was Anastasia’s statement:

“Hi everyone. Unfortunately, I have some bad news. I arrived in Australia on Tuesday and tested positive for Covid. I was fully vaccinated and was preparing for the start of the season in Dubai. But we live in a very difficult and unpredictable time.

Right now I am in complete isolation, in a special hotel and following all the protocols under the supervision of doctors. Now it’s important to take care of yourself and the health of others. I’ll be back on court when it’s safe for everyone. Take care of yourself.”
