Cori Gauff has always looked up to Serena Williams. The new American sensation has the luck of being followed by Serena’s coach Patrick Mouratoglou. 2 years ago, Patrick managed to have the players he was coaching all in one location in Florida during the off-season. This Frenchman also had the fantastic idea of having legend Mike Tyson spend some time with his players.
Serena and Coco Gauff had the opportunity to practice boxing with Mike. Mouratoglou reposted this video celebrating Coco and stressing the grit that she has shown him since she was 10 adding the following message:
When I first met @cocogauff (she was 10), what stroke me the most was her mindset. This girl is a fighter, this girl is a competitor.
I don’t only scout players for their shots, but also for how they think, act, and compete.

😮 Watch out for her. She is already 20 WTA, but the best is yet to come!”
