Emma Raducanu will be one of the players to watch at the upcoming Australian Open. The new British sensation conquered an incredible US Open title coming straight from the qualifications and against all the odds.
Emma now has a considerable challenge to confirm her progress, but that will not be easy with all the pressure on her.
Pat Cash on Raducanu
Tennis legend and 1987 Wimbledon champion Pat Cash expressed his opinion about Emma Raducanu. According to the Australian champion, Emma will have a hard time proving she is not a one-slam wonder. However, given her technical skills, Pat believes that she will make it also because she is less likely to crack under pressure.
He commented:
“Emma Raducanu is a top player. Her challenge is to prove she can win big again and that she’s not a one-trick pony. The good thing for her is that because she has no obvious technical weaknesses her game is less likely to break down under pressure.
She is a good athlete as well.”
