What a Roger Federer!
The Maestro pulls out a really great and solid performance against a frustrated Alexandr Dolgopolov. The Ukrainian had a super fortnight in Indian Wells to even beat the world no.1 Rafael Nadal, but apparently Roger was just too much.
The match lasted 6 games till the score line was on a even 3 all. Then.. bye bye… the Maestro flies away to win 9 of the following 10 games. Match Stats
Federer: I have got the right balance right now
Roger was absolutely elated by his performance “I think the results are better than I thought they would be… so that’s very encouraging and super positive, really. Now it’s just a matter of keeping that up, taking the right decisions not to overplay, not to underplay, and enjoy yourself. Because at the end of the day, it’s also very important.
“But having the fire and wanting to win every single match you go out there and in the practice trying to improve as much as you can, I think I’ve got the good balance right now, so it’s very encouraging.”
The final vs. Djokovic
Roger will take on Novak Djokovic in the final. Heat to head is 17-15 for Roger. 10-8 on hard court for the Maestro that might be slightly favourite to win this title.
