Nick Kyrgios and Serena Williams have a completely different approach to the sport of tennis and when their paths crossed it wasn’t pleasant for the Australian.
During a recent podcast (No Boundaries), Nick recalled an episode in 2014 when he played mixed doubles with Serena Williams at the now-defunct IPTL. Kyrgios and Williams teamed up for Singapore Slammers, losing 6-3 to Kirsten Flipkens and Daniel Nestor.
Nick Kyrgios has revealed that he was not happy because Serena was trying to do everything while he felt he was the better player.
He commented: “I’ve hit with Serena before. I played mixed doubles with her at IPTL and it was the most uncomfortable experience for me because she was trying to do everything. And I was like ‘I’m better than you.’ ”

Currently ranked no.93, Nick played his last match on the 25th of September when he was overcome by world no.4 Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3 6-4 in the round robin in the Laver Cup (draw).
This year the Australian has achieved a composed 7-8 win-loss record.
Serena Williams in 2021
Ranked world no.41, Serena Williams played her last match on the 29th of June when she had to retire when playing against world no.92 Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the 1st round and the scoreline was 3-3 .
Presently, during this year the American has managed to achieve a compiled 12-5 win-loss record. Serena Williams’s best result of the present year was reaching the semifinal in Melbourne and at the Australian Open.
