Emma Raducanu has become almost overnight one of the most appreciated British athletes. The 18-year-old won an incredible and unexpected title at the US Open, where she won 10 consecutive matches without dropping a single set.

Emma conquered the heart and imagination of the tennis fans and beyond with her tennis and pleasant personality.

The new British sensation appeared on the BBC Breakfast when she had the opportunity to share her personal feelings about her incredible run in New York.

Raducanu stressed the fact that she is starting to understand what she has achieved. She revealed:

“I think it is gradually becoming sinking in a bit more because last night I actually just re-watched the final and try to relive a couple of the moments and remember how it felt, so it is sinking in a little bit more, but it’s still such of a whirlwind of an experience I’ve loved every moment of it, but it is something that’s very difficult to comprehend

It’s funny because when I was watching it, it almost feels like that’s not me who’s playing in the coming off some of those shots it goes like it’s someone else, but I knew exactly what was going to happen but still at some very tense moments re-watching it I was really proud of how I came through some tough moments and also the time out at the end I didn’t realize how stressful that was on TV compared to live.”

Raducanu’s next tournaments

It is not clear which tournament Emma Raducanu will play next. She is widely expected to compete in Indian Wells in October. Given her ranking prior to the US Open (150), in theory, Emma should start her run in California from the qualifications. However, she is widely expected to receive a wild card for the main draw.
