At the moment ranked no.2, Osaka played her last match on the 30th of May when she beat world no.74 Patricia Maria Tig 6-4 7-6(4) in the 1st round in French Open (draw).
This year Naomi has managed to achieve a 14-3 record. The Japanese clinched 1 title at the Australian Open.

Currently the world no.16, Serena played her last match on the 29th of June when she had to retire when playing against world no.87 Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the 1st round and the scoreline was 3-3 .
