Stefanos Tsitsipas is now in Hamburg, where he reached the quarter-finals after defeating Dominik Koepfer 7-62 6-3.

Tsitsipas did not schedule to play this ATP 500 originally. Therefore, he had to receive a wild card to play the tournament.

Stefanos explained why he decided to play this event:

“I didn’t have obviously the best performance in Wimbledon and that is one of the main reasons why I’m here.

Another reason is that I love Hamburg, I love playing here. I’ve been always treated really nice and people have been positive of me being here. So, I like the attitude, I like the way people welcome.

And clay courts, it is one of my favorite surfaces and I enjoy playing in it. For me, the transitioning from clay to grass was very difficult.”

Stefanos Tsitsipas will come up against the world no.44 Filip Krajinovic in the quarter. Their head to head is 2-0 for Tsitsipas.
