Naomi Osaka is back in the spotlight after a rather interesting couple of months. The Japanese sensation famously withdrew from the French Open after struggling with some mental issues. Naomi decided not to attend any press conference, but that was not taken nicely from the Roland Garros and the other slams threatening her with suspension. Therefore, Naomi withdrew from the French major and she also decided not to play in Wimbledon.
Since that episode, Naomi Osaka made her first public appearance when she made her acceptance speech after winning the award for the best athlete in women’s sports at ESPYS. She was in the company of her boyfriend Cordae, a well-known American rapper.
This was her quick speech:
“I just really want to not say a long speech because I’m a bit nervous. This year has been a really, it hasn’t even finished, but it’s been really tough for a lot of us. For me, I just want to say I really love you guys.”
Naomi Osaka will be back to competitions on the occasion of the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo where she will be one of the most to follow up with the athletes.
