Italy wins a farcical Fed Cup final

Italy wins yet another Fed Cup, but that wasn’t a great final at all.

The Italian team had to face Russia in the final, but their opponents didn’t really come with their best team as the top players were world no. 136 Panova, no. 183-ranked Kleybanova and no. 236 Khromacheva

After winning in the first day both singles it was to Sara Errani to dismiss Kleybanova 6-1 6-1 to win the title.

This is Italy’s 4th Fed Cup title,  same as Russia and 13 behind USA… but the organisation should revise the calendar, a Fed Cup final should be represented by top ranked players. This was a joke and not even a funny one!
