Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic does not take anything for granted. The world number 1 is the hot favorite to conquer this Wimbledon edition. He will face Jack Draper, a rising British star and world number 250, in his first round. Djokovic is the overwhelming favorite to win that match. However, he has been doing his homework to avoid a spectacular upset.

During the press conference that precedes Wimbledon, Djokovic revealed that he asked Jannik Sinner some information about his upcoming opponent. Jake Draper defeated the young Italian in the first round of the recent ATP 500 staged at the prestigious Queen’s Club. Eventually, Draper reached the quarter-final before losing to Cameron Norrie.

Novak Djokovic commented:

“I don’t know too much about Draper. I asked Sinner a few questions about his game. I have to do my homework, watch some videos of his performance at Queen’s. He is going to have people behind him; it can be tricky, he doesn’t have much to lose. I am taking it very seriously.”
