Naomi Osaka And Coco Gauff

Cori Gauff and Naomi Osaka share a special relationship. The Japanese sensation was extremely gracious with Coco when she defeated her in the 2019 US Open. After the match, Naomi Osaka noticed that Coco was extremely upset about the result. Therefore, she encouraged Coco to share the on-court interview with her.

During a recent appearance on Eurosport, Coco Gauff was asked to elaborate on her feelings about what happened with Naomi Osaka. Coco commented:

“For me, I just feel like mental health is a dear subject to me. I don’t really know the details of it but I did send her a public message and then also a message in private.

You know, just reaching out if she needs any support and letting her know that, for me, I think it’s important to just have someone who can listen.

Hopefully, she can come back on court feeling happy and able to compete. Because you can still compete but you might not be happy on the court. I think for me, I hope that she can come back competing and being happy.
