Cori Gauff and Amanda Anisimova are going to clash in an extremely interesting quarterfinal in Parma on Thursday.
Coco and Amanda are probably the most exciting prospect of American tennis. They have never faced each other on the WTA tour but they played the 2017 US Open final in juniors. Anisimova won the match 6-0 6-2, but it is important to stress that Coco was just 13-year-old.
Gauff commented:
“We haven’t seen each other in a while on the court. I think it will be a great match. She’s obviously a great player, she hits the ball big and trusts her strokes, so it will be a good test to see how I defend against that.
But I think it’s going to be important to take my chances when I can, and continue to be on offense.”

Now ranked no.30 (career-high), Gauff owns an overall 20-9 record in 2021. The American is now competing in Parma where she bested Kaia Kanepi 7-66 7-67 and Camila Giorgi 6-2 6-3.
Cori Gauff will square off with the world no.40 Amanda Anisimova in the quarter on Thursday at 4:00 pm on Centre Court. They have never competed against each other till now in top events.

At the moment ranked no.40, the American has achieved a 7-5 win-loss record in 2021. Anisimova is currently having a run in Parma where she defeated Jasmine Paolini 6-2 6-1 and Anna Schmiedlova 6-2 6-4.
