Mardy Fish retires from the US Open

Tough tough life for Mardy.

Apparently the former American No.1 is really struggling with his fitness to withdraw from the US Open. Mardy had to recently retire in Wiston-Salem  in the third set when he was playing against Nieminem for a heat stroke… or maybe something else.

The withdrawal fro the US Open has been announced today as tomorrow we are going to have the official draws for the US Open.

The USTA has released the official statement saying the Fish won’t play for “personal reasons”.

In a recent interview in Washington the American said: “I struggled mightily during the U.S. Open last year. So those sort of post-traumatic experiences that I’ve had, that I have now, are what I need to get over right now. But it’s a process. It’s not an easy game. And fitness is as big a part of it as playing, and sometimes that’s trouble, spells trouble,me.”

Will he be back or time to pull the plug?
