CLAY COURT SEASON. Federer will not play in Madrid and Rome to compete only in Geneva and at the French Open.

Roger Federer will play only two tournaments on clay in 2021 before starting his campaign on grass.

Roger Federer was widely expected to make his comeback on clay on the occasion of the ATP 1000 in Madrid. Unfortunately, the Swiss legend was not ready to be back to competition in Spain and Italy. Therefore, he announced his participation at the ATP 250 in Geneva (17th of May) before competing at the upcoming French Open.

Roger Federer has always stated that the most important part of his season will be the grass-court stint and North American swing. Federer is also expected to play the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Now ranked no.8, Federer played his last match on the 11th of March when he capitulated to world no.36 Nikoloz Basilashvili 3-6 6-1 7-5 in the quarter in Doha (draw).
