LIVE RANKINGS. Medvedev reaches a milestone equaling Djokovic, Federer, and Nadal

Daniil Medvedev has achieved a huge milestone in Miami and if he wins the tournament he can challenge Novak Djokovic for the world no.1 rank

Medvedev Equals The Big3 In The Rankings

Daniil Medvedev has just reached the quarterfinals in Miami also to achieve an important milestone in the lives rankings. The Russian no.1 is the first player to earn 10,000 points after Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray since the system was revised in 2009. The points will be officialized from next Monday.

Obviously, the Russian was also helped by the freeze of the points, but it still a big achievement.

Can Medvedev become the world no.1?

Currently, Medvedev is sitting with 10,030 (live) points. If he wins the Miami Open, Daniil will have 10,850 points that mean 1,113 points less than Novak Djokovic (the world no.1). While the Serbian champion can rely for long on the freezing of the points, Medvedev can strongly improve his position if he has a good stint on clay. He has practically no points earned in the previous editions in Rome, Madrid, and at the French Open as he crashed out in the first round of all three tournaments.
