Cori Gauff has just turned 17 and she is already ranked 35 following the precious advice of her father and coach Corey. Gauff aims at being the best challenging the likes of Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams and she will try to make an impression in the Miami Open that will be staged from next week.
Coco’s style is extremely aggressive on the tennis court and during a recent interview, she explained that that is a direction given by her father and coach Corey.
“My dad brings it out a lot. He always tells me, ‘don’t step on the court unless you’re physically ready to fight someone,” said Coco talking about being aggressive.

Ranked no.35 (career-high), Gauff played her last match on the 11th of March when she was overcome by Jil Belen Teichmann 6-3 6-3 in the quarter in Dubai (draw).
This year the American owns a 11-5 record. Cori Gauff’s best performance of the current season was reaching the semifinal in Adelaide.
Naomi Osaka in 2021
Now ranked no.2, Naomi played her last match on the 20th of February when she beat Jennifer Brady 6-4 6-3 in the final of the Australian Open to win her 7th career title.
This season Osaka has a compiled 10-0 record. The Japanese clinched 1 title at the Australian Open.
Cori Gauff and Naomi Osaka faced off just twice. Their record is 1-1. The last time they squared off, Cori Gauff won 6-3 6-4 in the 3rd round in Melbourne (Australian Open) in January 2020.

Serena Williams in 2021
Ranked world no.7, Serena Williams played her last match on the 18th of February when she was overcome by Naomi Osaka 6-3 6-4 in the semifinal of the Australian Open (draw).
At present, during this year the American has a 8-1 record. Serena Williams’s most significant result of the current season was getting to the semifinal in Melbourne and at the Australian Open.
