Naomi Osaka is overexcited for the upcoming Olympics that will be played in Tokyo this year. However, the bad news is the Games will be played without foreign spectators.

According to Japanese news agency Kyodo, the government has already decided that it would be too risky to have foreign spectators for the Olympics because of the pandemic.

The organising committee has decided it is essential to hold the ceremony in the northeastern prefecture of Fukushima behind closed doors, only permitting participants and invitees to take part in the event, to avoid large crowds forming amid the pandemic,” Kyodo reported.

However, the final decision will be officialized by the end of March also after monitoring the evolution of the infections in Japan.

Talking about how important it is for Naomi to play the Games, she recently commented:

Everyone kind of knows the Olympics is a really big deal for me. It would be my first Olympics. For it to be in Tokyo of course would be a dream.”
