Naomi Osaka has always shared a special bond with her mother Tamaki and she wrote a lovely message for her on the occasion of Women’s day. The world no.2 took on social media to post the following message: “Happy #InternationalWomensDay. For me this day is a celebration for all the women who paved the way for us and made it easier for those who walk the path after them (special s/o to my mom though cause I wouldn’t be here without her lol)”
Naomi Osaka’s mother vs. racism
Naomi’s mother Tamaki learned first hand the disruption that racist opinion can bring even to a close family. Tamaki was estranged for more than 10 years by her own family for dating and married Naomi’s father Leonard Francois that was born in Haiti. Fortunately, the fracture was healed.
Naomi is currently in the US as she decided not to compete in Doha and Dubai. The Japanese sensation will be back to competitions on the occasion of the Miami Open (22nd of March).
