Daniil Medvedev is about to take on Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open title for what would be Daniil’s maiden slam. The Russian ace is getting more and more prominent in the world of tennis. A few months ago he conquered the ATP Finals and if he beats Djokovic in Melbourne he will become the world no.2.
How did Medvedev choose to play tennis?
Once, Daniil revealed an interesting story on how he chose to play tennis. The Russian champion disclosed that his father wanted him to be a professional swimmer. However, once he was in the pool he looked at a board advertising tennis classes and he was extremely attracted by that.
Given his recent success, it’s pretty clear that that was the right choice. To date, Daniil has 9 titles under his belt and he is extremely close to conquering his maiden slam.
