DISASTER. Bianca Andreescu withdraws from Adelaide and Doha possibly injured. Still in for Dubai

Bianca Andreescu has commenced a series of retirements from some competitions

Bianca Andreescu Struggling

Bianca Andreescu can’t find any peace. The entertaining Canadian was eager to come back to the main tour in 2021 after she was sidelined for more than 15 months following a series of injuries and the tours’ halting because of the global pandemic. Bianca already surprised at the beginning of January when she decided not to play the WTA event in Abu Dhabi, even if she was stationing in the region for long.

After coping with a hard lockdown in Melbourne, Bianca crashed out as early as in the 2nd round at the Australian Open. Later she played the Phillip Island Trophy, where she lost in the semifinal after squandering a 4-1 lead in the decider when facing Marie Bouzkova.

Bianca was expected to play the WTA event in Adelaide after Melbourne to then compete in Doha. Unfortunately, she has just withdrawn from both competitions. Bianca is still on the Dubai entry list, but at this point it is not plausible she will travel to the Middle East to play only 1 event.

Andreescu looked extremely nervous when playing the Phillip Island Trophy. She seems to be extremely fit from a physical point of view, but probably something is not right.

Let’s hope for a proper and complete comeback.
