Serena Williams remained full of emotions after a tough loss to Naomi Osaka. The American sensation after the match stopped for some time to wave the crowd as it was the last time that she was stepping on the court.

Serena was incredibly emotional during the press conference and eventually she had to leave as she was bursting into tears.

Later Serena posted a heartfelt message on Instagram thanking her fans in Australia. There was no “See you next year in it.

This was the message:

“Melbourne and my Australian fans- Today was not ideal outcome or performance but it happens… I am so honored to be able to play in front of you all. Your support -your cheers, I only wish I could have done better for you today. I am forever in debt and grateful to each and everyone single one of you. I love you. I love you. I love you.
