In a day that will be remember for Roger’s incredible upset in Wimbledon second round, we had quite some shocking results also in the women’s draw where we lost in one shot Azarenka, Ivanovic, Wozniacki, Jankovic and now also Maria Sharapova… and we are not even in the third round!
Maria’s defeat came at the hands of a very good Michelle Larcher de Brito from Portugal that was going for the kill at every single point to outplay the Russian Beauty that managed to win only 7 games,

“I don’t think I’ve ever fallen three times in a match before in my career, so that was a little strange,” Sharapova said. “But that’s certainly not an excuse.
“I think today I’ve seen a lot of players fall and take a few hits and a few injuries. So I think that’s just part of the game, part of what we have to deal with.”
