Bernard Tomic keeps on improving his tennis to try to reach the top ATP spots as soon as possible.
In Munich he had some problems to overcome a combative Starace to defeat him in 2 hours. Tomic managed to get back from being 1 break down in the 3rd set.
“I played very well in the first set and had chances to be up early in that second set,” reflected Tomic. “I think that could have made a difference to not play three sets. He started playing good in the third and I was down a break, so it was good for me to get back and I played well in the end. My clay-court game has struggled in the past few years,” he continued. “Now, to win back-to-back matches at the same tournament is huge for me so I’m going to keep going and hopefully next round I can win too.”
Tomic will play Feliciano Lopez in the quarterfinals.
