Great match for Rafa that was very pleased with his game and physical condition. It took 1 hour and 41 minutes for the Spaniard to defeat Leonardo Mayer 6-1 7-5. In the first set Rafa dominated the Argentine to win 33 vs. Mayer’s 17. In the second the Argentine served very well to be broken just at the end and lose the set at 5.
Rafa will play the seminal against Almagro (6-3 6-4 on Zeballos). Head to head is 8-0 for Nadal. Tha has lost only 2 sets against Almagro.
Ferrer
David Ferrer had another easy match, this time against Paolo Lorenzi to win 6-3 6-1 in 62 minutes. David won 61 points against Lorenzi’s 37. The Spaniard dropped a service game only once in the first set to break Lorenzi 5 times.
David will play Fabio Fognini (7-5 6-4 on Giraldo) in the semifinal. Head to head is 4-0 for Ferrer that defeated the Italian 1 week ago in the quarters in Buenos Aires 6-2 6-1.
