Garbine Muguruza is currently in Melbourne, where she has been quarantined after she landed in Australia. Fortunately, Garbine is not part of those 72 players that had to endure a strict quarantine and therefore she has the opportunity to practice on court during the confinement.

Garbine is the 2020 Australian Open runner-up. Last year she had a outstanding run in Melbourne where she was only stopped by Sofia Kenin in the final after she won the first set. The final result was 4-6 6-2 6-2.

Now ranked no.15, Muguruza played her last match on the 10th of January when she surrendered to Maria Sakkari 7-5 6-4 in the 3rd round in Abu Dhabi (draw).
Presently, during this year Muguruza achieved a compiled 2-1 record.
